Please feel free to contact us for any other enquiries.
Please pack light, as you’ll need to carry your bags on and off the boat and up to the cottages. Guests must also carry overnight bags up rocky steps and grassy tracks to reach the cottages, where Caretakers will meet you. Check-in is at 2 PM, so if you have an early sailing, your cottage may not be ready.
Weather and sea conditions change frequently, so sailing times may vary. Please be flexible. If your travel times don’t suit, we may arrange alternative one-way ticket transfers for an additional charge of €20 per person. Cancellations will not be approved or refunded if sailing times do not suit.
To help maintain the island’s beauty, please take all belongings, including rubbish and recycling, with you upon departure. We can dispose of perfectly organized rubbish for a small charge; please plan accordingly.
Pets are no longer allowed in the cottages.
We will do our best to honor cottage preferences, but it cannot be guaranteed. Bathrooms for Tigh Peig are located outside the back door.
Facilities on Great Blasket Island are limited, which enhances the experience. Fresh running water is available but untreated. There is no electricity, Wi-Fi, TV, or electronic devices, allowing guests to enjoy campfires, sunsets, and nature. Mobile reception is generally good for emergencies.
After booking, your seat will be reserved for a Dunquin return transfer on our boat, The Peig Sayers. This transfer is for overnight guests only and takes approximately 15 minutes.
Cost – €35 per adult, €20 per child (children under 4 go free).
Collection time – Varies with the tide, so be flexible and contact Alice for details.
Once at Dunquin, park in an available spot and walk down the windy path to the pier. Be at the bottom of the pier 15 minutes before your pick-up time with all belongings ready to board. If you are late, we will have to leave without you.
Have cash or card ready for payment.
If Dunquin Pier is inaccessible due to bad weather, we will transfer you from Dingle for €50 per person. All guests will be returned to Dunquin regardless of their departure point.
Cancellations within 14 to 7 days before arrival incur a half booking fee.
Cancellations less than 7 days before arrival will be fully charged.
A 5% non-refundable booking fee applies from May 1, 2020.
Cancellations due to rough seas are determined by Billy; we do not accept cancellations due to rain or clouds if crossings are possible from Dingle or Dunquin.
